Book Cover Redesign for "Graphic Design Basics 5"

This is my redesign cover concept for the one of the first graphic design text books that I ever purchased while in college. “Graphic Design Basics” by Amy E. Arnston. I wanted to keep the visual theme of the butterfly that was on the original, and wanted to showcase it in different variations of icon or logo design. My concept is inspired by some of my favorite graphic design books:

Trademarks and Symbols 1 & 2 by Yasaburo Kuwayama,
Principles of Two-Dimensional Design by Wucius Wong,
and Grid Systems by Joseph Müller-Brockmann
